A Year On! A review and Covid Update

A year on from the launch of Eyres Jewellery Website – well almost as the website was launched on November 7th 2019.

I remember the sheer excitement as my developer rang me to say the website was live. What a year it has been!!

Firstly I must thank everyone who has taken the time to take a look at the jewellery, All of your custom and feedback has been so much appreciated. I have loved working with the artists who create the amazing jewellery in the collection. Whenever you buy from Eyres Jewellery not only are you supporting my business but you are supporting the artists too.

The year started with the lead into Christmas 2019 – a great start to online sales and a lovely way to meet new customers online. The Christmas Jewellery is aways very popular and all the robins, reindeer and poinsettia are available now in the Christmas Theme section of the website

In February as in every year I met the artists and selected new lines from their collections to add to the Eyres Jewellery collection. Can you imagine the excitement I have looking at all those beautiful new designs?

I am always on the look out for new artists and this year I met Anna Tillman who works with glass and creates amazing pieces. I have recently added her Acorn Pendants to the collection.

I caught up with Victoria MacGowan-Smyth who designs all the amazing colourful resin necklaces and earrings. Her spring launch included the new colour palette Sherbet – destined to make our summers fizz.

This Sherbet square Necklace has been popular throughout the Summer and continues to be this Autumn.

Sadly for many of us our summer did not fizz in quite the way we had hoped but we `kept on keeping on’. I learnt new skills and spent a lot of time online bringing Eyres Jewellery to a wider community.

Online I met another artist Helen Chalmers who is based in Edinburgh. She works with glass  and her mini studs have been so popular with customers at markets. Her dotty studs are so quirky and here is one customer who found it so difficult to choose that when she got home she ordered two more pairs online.

The Cornish range of jewellery continues to be a large part of the Eyres Jewellery Collection with a large selection of animal themed pieces. I donate £1 from every animal themed piece of jewellery or giftware sold to a local project near to where I live called Wildstream TV

WILDSTREAM TV IS A COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY
WildstreamTV builds networks of ultrahigh definition cameras that record wildlife continuously every hour and every day throughout the seasons. Each setup is the result of many years of fieldcraft to produce immersive and seldom seen behaviours of our iconic British Wildlife. This includes often never seen creatures such as Kingfishers, Otters and Barn Owls. They then install 4K screens with ‘slow tv’ footage to health and community settings where access to wildlife or nature is difficult.

I worked with the designers in Cornwall to produce the Kingfisher Pendant and Brooch and ll profits from both of these pieces go to WildstreamTv

As lockdownn came it became clear that many small businesses were being hit hard and so were many charities. Charities were unable to hold their big fundraisers so a group of small independent businesses came together . I am proud to be a founder member of Brilliant Little Brands. They have held numerous online charity fairs and raised thousands for various charities.

So it has been quite a year!!

As I write this the UK is continuing to face challenging times with various restrictions. I live in England so along with everyone else I am facing lockdown and I am not allowed to go out and trade. This is very disappointing but understandable.  However I am very much OPEN for business as the website is available 24/7.

I am working from home and all the stock is easily available. I use Royal Mail to deliver your orders as my local post office is open and within walking distance. Please order early for any birthdays and especially Christmas. All delivery services are seeing an increase in demand and therefore there may be some delay.

Postage is free to all UK destinations. I am also open to worldwide orders. There are however long delays to some destinations due to logistics so please bear that in mind when ordering.

Once again THANK YOU for all your support and custom this year. If you have found Eyres Jewellery for the first time thank you for stopping to have a look. I hope you like what you see. I am always happy to answer any queries and to help you find the right piece for you or your loved ones.

Wishing you all the best in these interesting times.
